    Also pharmaceuticals most likely have played a part- statins, clonodine (blood pressure), flu shots, anti-depressants, etc. Most elderly people, actually many over 40/50, are on numerous meds.

    do not take this POISON! seriously statins are POISON almost killed me i took simvastatin 2.5 mg and experienced the worst myopathy ever inflammation every where and the worst part increased blood sugar my foot was swelling and noticed some brusing on the foot and side areas. took it initially to try lowering triglycerides. did not help not even a little bit. when i was taking it couldn't eat anything. and plus statins put you in the worst Fing mood ever.

    Pam is absolutely right. We loose muscle mass ( as well as bone density ) as we get older. Resistance Training is critical to slow down this process and perhaps even reverse both. I am 68 this year and have been doing strength training for sometime now and it has made a tremedous difference. The book "The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40" is what I have been using as my guide and I really wish I had found it much sooner. No matter your age this is the process you should follow if you want to maintain your strength and independence as you age. The authors, Sullivan and Baker, have worked with hundreds of trainees our age and they know what they are talking about. This is the title and the link where you can read the reviews: The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40 amzn.to/2IJYPS8

    This is so interesting. Ive tried it maybe 5-10 times in my life (Im 33) and it was always with friends who offered it with rave reviews. I was never really like "WOW!" about the feeling and never wanted to try other drugs but my friends who like the effect have. Its a huge money pit too.

    It would not be such a bad thing to take a drug that does not work but for the fact that the side affects can be terrible. Increased risk of suicide, as much as 300%, akathisia which can be extreme. Akathisia makes people so restless and jumpy that they can not stand it causing them to want it to stop so badly they end their lives. One woman describes her husband who was just started on them, jumping in front of a train. I doubt you will see that in a clinical trial. Please don't get me started on the withdrawal effects.

    I tried intermittent fasting almost two years ago. It caused my insulin to drop below normal levels. It also caused my sugar levels to drop low. I think I simply could not eat enough in my eating window get all my calories in. Now I eat 4-6 meals (mostly WFPB) and have more energy than I did in my 20’s.

    4:03 “Studies show that the drugs don’t work very well, for example statin drugs reduce the risk of a heart attack by about 1.2 to 1.6%. Dietary intervention, on the other hand, works REALLY well, and it takes care of the early-stage coronary patients, the late stage coronary patients-everybody ends up better! And by the way, diet is the only thing that address this systemically. We don’t have any great rotor router system that goes through the arteries of the body cleaning out the crud that results from the standard American diet.”

    What about the people who have been benzodiazepines prescribed for a long time and the crack down? I agree they are the devil. I am on my fourth or fifth year alone of trying to get off of clonazepam with 6 grand mal seizures a couple year backs putting some dents in the road. One lasting almost 20 minutes. Had spent a couple weeks at a time trying to sleep it off. I tried three times and got off suboxone a couple years ago and benzo’s are the devil compared. They gave me epilepsy.

    Should sue for malpractice. A family members doctor claimed there was 95% chance of chemotherapy cure for lung cancer. Nope, after 3 treatments gone from small cell to none small cell and now needs to be on oxygen. Lack of information has left him weak and with a huge weight loss. Chemotherapy is barbaric, don't even consider it.

    I could have told you this. I was born and raised in France and the traditional way of eating in France is a disaster. Most Europeans, including the French, look worse than Americans who take care of themselves. I've seen most people in France, and I was born in the 60s, have CVD and cancer and I do NOT see them healthier than Americans. Correct, European populations have never been healthy, compared to modern vegans.

    This is horrendous and criminal in my view, because the Pharmaceutical industry as known this for many years also. The pharmaceutical industry puts money over peoples health and knows drugs make you worse and keep you sick. Even worse the Government backs them and knows this to.

    Just happened to come across this video and was left more confused than ever. You stated it is better for you to eat bread, corn, pasta, ect. Yet you give no indication of what diet you are talking about or where this diet comes from and how it relates to diabetes. You say the normal wisdom on diabetic diets is completely false so perhaps you can point me to the diet that really works.

    • @drpamsnewschannel
      @drpamsnewschannel 4 роки тому

      The eating pattern that works is a diet that is based on starchy foods (root vegetables like potatoes, beets), legumes, whole grains, fruits and vegetables; with smaller amounts of minimally processed foods, limited amounts of higher-fat foods like avocado and nuts; maximum 3 servings of animal foods (wild-caught or organic, no dairy) per week and treats on holidays and birthdays. We teach a 6-session course on how to adopt this diet with lots of other details - join and you can take the course.

    Many keto diet promoting websites aggressively promote coconut oil saying falsely that saturated fats are completely harmless. Unfortunately my experience showed that saturated fats such as those from coconut oil greatly increase Lp-PLA2 levels, a reliable measure of arterial inflammation.

    In Roman times, and throughout the Middle Ages, salt was a valuable commodity, also referred to as "white gold." This high demand for salt was due to its important use in preserving food, especially meat and fish. Being so valuable, soldiers in the Roman army were sometimes paid with salt instead of money.
